We have dedicated Community Outreach Workers who identify vulnerable families that need immediate support in order to meet their basic needs. It was important to us that we respected the local expertise and knowledge, all Community Outreach Workers are Ugandan Nationals living within the communities we are supporting. They are our are our eyes and ears to the real challenges that people are facing each day. We also work with local council leaders and village elders to identify those who may be struggling.
Examples of the short term financial aid that we provide can range from supporting someone who has recently lost their income unexpectedly, buying food, unexpected medical costs, supporting with school fees and any other issue that our community worker advises.
We have a limit to the money that is granted to each applicant on a monthly basis, however applicants can apply for repeat grants. All decisions are made collectively by the Tulinawe Team on a case by case basis.
We aim to be transparent and act with integrity at all times. No donations are used for administrative or salary costs although all representatives of Tulinawe are paid a Living Wage.
